Ex3 with and without SxS, explain to a noob. Please

I'm looking on BH photo and they have Ex3 in stock with the SxS and are sold-out of the ex3's without the SxS. So if the other is not SxS , what does it take?

The without SxS version is a "New Arrival" so I would guess Sony simply is ceasing to provide a free SxS card with the camera. You would therefore need to buy an SxS card separately, use one of the available SxS adapters, or record to an external recorder.

That'd be my guess too. All XDCAM-EX cameras use SxS recording media, so it probably just means that there isn't a free card in the box.

They may be planning a price drop without the card to make it seem attractive. (SxS cards aren't cheap, that's why most people use MxR or similar adapters with high speed SDHC cards.) The SxS cards are just the thing for the over cranking so you might want to grab that one.
