EX3 - Shooting Italy - How to adjust for flickering light?

I am looking for "Step 2" in dealing with light sources that the EX3, (when set up for NTSC), sees as flickering, due to the rate that European electricity cycles.

I understand that Step 1 is to shoot PAL, with a frame rate of 50 or 25, in order for the EX3 to be commensurate with European electricity cycles.

Once in PAL, if one stills perceives flickering, what is Step 2 for "dialing out" flicker?

You can "dial out" flicker by adjusting your shutter. Some cameras call this clear scan. You can also adjust shutter angle and speed.

I was recently in Berlin shooting with my EX3. I was shooting in NTSC using a shutter setting of 1/50, and we had no flicker problem. The EX also has a flicker reduction setting under the Camera Settings menu. Worst case use the extended clear scan setting "ECS" to dial out the flicker.
