hello,

I own a steadicam pilot, i wanted to know if anyone knew if i could fly a ex3 on it? its says 7.6pounds and the pilot is max 10. but that includes everything screen and battery. anyone flying a ex3 on a pilot? thanks

yes. I have flown my ex3 on my pilot. with... wireless mic, shotgun, wireless transmitter for seperate video monitor, all audio cables for this setup. with this setup i have 2 midweights on the bottom of the sled and none on the stage. i am also powering the cam/steadicam monitor from the idx battery on the sled.

with this config, i am right at the weight limit and the arm is a smidge of a turn away from completely bottoming out.

all my cables for the steadicam rig were custom made by a friend so they fit nicely and don't stick out.

not sure... borrowed it from a friend on the other forum.

the 10lbs does not include the sled, monitor, battery mount. but you do have to factor in the battery weight, and balance weights and any additional add-ons.
