EX3 camera tripod problems - shaky on Miller Ds-20 tripod

Hi, does anyone else use a Miller DS-20 tripod with carbon fibre legs with an EX3 camera? I love the tripod but have problems with the camera being wobbly when mounted - all it takes is to touch the tripod handle and you can notice the shake when you transfer the footage and watch it full-screen.

Not sure what the best solution for this is - does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Mike

A freelance buddy of mine solved that issue with a Tiger Claw from Vortex Media.

It's a simple solution that really worked for him.

I bought a pricier base plate for my EX3 which also solved the issue...not to mention eliminating worries about the tripod screw hole on the base of the EX3 camera body breaking.

But it's more money than the claw. I looked at it as a one time insurance policy and could not be happier.

I have the ex3 teleplate or one like it and it works very well. ... 2 points of contact in the back supports the main screw very well.

Just one other thing I'd like to point out about the EX3 and that is the rounded edges of the bottom of the camera. It was a bad design and it takes something like the teleplate to stabilize.
