As soon as anyone gets one of these I'd love to hear how its SD quality compares to the EX1 SD quality (SDI or any of the analogue outs).
I shot next to a PWD-350 on the weekend, with both cameras feeding to a standard (non Pro) smallish TV for monitoring by composite.
Even with all these low end components (generic TV, composite cable etc), there was a clear and obvious difference in the image. Not in colour, but in sharpness. The EX1 is quite obviously soft in its downconversion. We know the origonal image isn't soft, the HD looks great, but the SD out is quite dissapointing. I was shooting in 720 50P to give the SD out its best chance but still...
I'm hoping they just didn't take the same SD feed and just add a DV encoder, I hope they put something decent in there to downconvert.
