(EX1R) Has anyone succesfully updated to 1.15? grr....

Wanting to wipe the cam clean and update to the newest ex1r firmware, 1.15. The cam is at 1.10 now, when I updated to that it went perfectly smooth. Dropped the firmware bin file on the card and the cam updated itself.

Well, now trying to update from 1.10 to 1.15, no matter what I do, when I hit "version up" it says "no file"

I've put the bin file everywhere on the sxs card in an attempt to get it to find it, although I know it should be in the top level directory which is what worked perfect for the 1.10 and is what the manual says to do. No matter what I do though it will not find the file! power cycled the cam, etc.


Has anyone actually been able to update to 1.15? I googled and found a user on a polish forum with the exact same problem, with no resolve

thanks for the clarification! Glad to know there's nothing wrong with mine in particular (crazy thoughts flying in my head of having an ex1 with an r painted on it)

Wonder if sony knows they have absolutely bunk firmware up for download on their site? I'll be giving them a call about this when their telephones open back up on monday...

Quality Control FAIL. Come on Sony...you are getting as bad as Canon!
(Canon released a firmware update for the 5D that had problems earlier this year).

I'm never quick to update these days. I used to be the first one, but no more. I don't wish to be a beta-tester!
 
Definitely, I'm just thankful the cam refuses to burn it to chip, instead of doing so, and finding out sony doesn't check what they put live on the internet when your cam won't turn back on!

Just got off the phone with sony, plenty of transfer juggling there.. eventually got in touch with the people in charge of firmware, and apparently sony recently changed their site config and in the process the firmware got replaced with the firmware upgrade meant for chinese cameras. He guided me to a passworded ftp where the working US 1.15 lies, not a good idea to post the ftp but here is the firmware!
