EX1 via FW to FCP - what options?

For a 3 camera shoot I was thinking of renting EX1s and since I´m a HVX shooter, I wanted to know if I can hook up the EX1 via FW to a MacBookPro or PowerBook G4 and record straight to harddisc...?
I do this with DVCpro50/HD from the HVXall the time, does it work the same and also flawlessly?

Your only options are:

1: Set the camera in SP mode (HDV mode, which can be output the 1394) & use a tool like On Location to log HDV footage.

2: Purchase something that can convert from SDI to whatever codec you are looking for (if such a beast exists). eg SDI->DVCPRO 50 (firewire) format converter.

3: Use a analogue to DV converter to convert from one of the analogue outputs to DV.
