EX1 Training Videos

Okay, I'm pumped, I just got my EX1 today! I took it out of the box for about 3 minutes to grope it, but I've been too busy with work today to even turn it on or fiddle with it.

I'm looking at getting a training video(s) and I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations?

I see one made by Vortex Media, "Mastering Sony PMW-EX1".

Also, "Inside the Sony XDCAM EX by Douglas Spotted Eagle.

And one made by Call Box, "Sony EX1 Guidebook".

hey Buck, Welcome to the club of EX1 owners!
I would almost say go with the forums over any of the DVD's at this point. I found the best way to learn is to make every mistake there is first... all mine I will be listing on Philip Blooms forums soon in a 'Mistakes I've Made" thread.

Can't wait to se what you shoot. I have one of your mountain shots as my screen image.

I've found that the Vortex Media DVD has been the most in-depth training disk of the three you listed.

Whilst I agree with kubalsky that you can learn a lot here on the forums it's not the most time-efficient way. I found the Vortex Media DVD well worth the money in getting me up and running very quickly, whilst also teaching me some valuable techniques I wouldn't have heard about otherwise.
