EX1 Test - ASC members gasp

Well, who cares, i mean what? is any prosumer priced camera gonna change the world just because it looks good projected. Only microbudget gimps like us would care so much about that haha (okay we're not all microbudget gimps) but er, my point is, we've known hd prosumer cams can be projected with good results.

We've seen the dvx projected fine to 35mm - the XL1 etc. I mean its cool that it must have looked good, but it would not look any different to one should surely expect for HD.

I mean the rate this discussion is going we'll soon be saying that the tears of the EX can cure cancer... only the EX never cries hehe - or that maybe its better in fact than the F23 hehe.

Its just soooo silly. 'Gasps' honestly, i mean come on. Hot ladies can do that to me! Otherwise the guys gasping at the results of the projection were the same individuals who gasped when their characters reached level 9 in Dungeons and Dragons.

It would not surprise me that the EX could get a result not disimilarly cool (in some regards) to a much fancier cam, like the F23, i mean such comparisons were made with the hvx and pannies top o the line cams too. So is this really all that new or important?

I mean its interesting, i just dont understand why its that important - its nothing new surely!

I understand where you're coming from in general, but you're blowing things out of proportion here. I don't recall anyone claiming this footage was going to "change the world" or "cure cancer". I know you're exaggerating your point but that's a bit much don't you think?

It matters to me because I make my living with cameras. When I'm lucky the stuff that I shoot is on a big screen and I want it to look as good as it possibly can (so do the people who are paying me.)

If I adopted the attitude that you have I'd be out of work pretty quickly.

Apparently to some.
I believe there are some who care if they could get a small camera like the EX1 to cut with the bigger cameras. There are applications will this will come in handy.

Let's face it... the EX1 just looks great for the price. Is it perfect. No way! Far from it, then again so is the HVX200, or just about any camera for that matter..

Whoah! Slow down doondoon, thats a bit heavy don't you think? Inferring that if you had my attitude you'd be out of work quickly because you 'live' on your camera? What do you think I do? I run a production company that produces content for exhibition screens and wee screens so we're in the same boat - and I ALSO live on my camera - thanks! Huh!

lol doondoon I was only joking - have you not heard the old old chuck norris joke? Chuck Norris' tears can cure cancer, only chuck norris NEVER cries etc - so I certainly didnt mean to come off as mean spirited as you may have taken it (which i presume from your reply questioning my professionalism...)

Anyway hope thats cleared it up! (I was joking not trying to exaggerate in any serious way) :)

- SteveT - Agreed absolutely, it has a practical function that they can be intercut - its really just the gasps I was teasing. I think its actually incredible if you think about it, that the prosumer/professional cams can even come close to the big guys!
