ex1 or ex3

I'm going to be doing a shoot in a week in a school. I could either rent the ex1 or the ex3. Image quality-wise, is there any difference between the two. I've used the ex1 a few times. Would there be a big learning curve for the ex3? I know it's shoulder vs handheld ergonomics. Any other big differences? I'll be shooting both on and off the tripod.

if the ex3 has the stock lens on it, the image quality is the exact same. the imaging sensor, circuitry, and recording format are all the exact same, the ex3 just lets you use different lenses. I would definitely save some money and go for the ex1 unless you have the need to use a specific lens

I bought an EX3 and never could justify buying expensive lenses so I should have bought an Ex1.

I would love to have held out for an Ex1R.

You can't really shoot using your shoulder with the EX3 anyway so size doesn't matter.

Like one guy said an EX1 or EX1R would be better on a steadicam.

yeah i agree, can actually use the relay rig from letus. Interchangeable lenses, s and q outside of body. Cache recording, HDMI deffo a big one.

But its costs, ex1 better for the price some real bargains there now.
