Ex1 on camera light?

Could anyone recommend an on-camera light for the EX1, mains powered is preferred to conserve battery?
It's for grab interviews and run and shoot gvs

many thanks

I'm a fan of the Zylight too, not just because it's bright (which it is) but because it is flattering to the subject, very natural light for LED. It is expensive however.

We use two led lights from lite panels, they are amazing and color correct , run off off aa batteries and are so light weight. They are used for dark shots to explore asylums and interviews. We put one for key and the other for side or back light, (rim) they work great! I have a set of the larger lite panels but they need alot of 12v battery power.

Another vote for the Litepanels Micro.

Tried a friend's VariZoom, which is impressive but because it uses your camera batteries, needs a battery plinth somewhere on your rig (usually the handle), and it's another battery to think about.

The thing about the LitePanels is that it's independent. Sure, it can sit on your camera, or on a cross bar mounted to your camera, but it can go other places as well. Great kicker, hair light, detail light, good for closeups, food, and so on. Because it's fired up by AAs, you don't need to figure in the battery budget on this one.

You'll need a battery for your camera, a spare for your camera, and possibly one on charge for your camera, and THEN you need one for your lamp, and possibly another one for your lamp. This is fine and dandy for long term Z1 owners and the like, but if you're fresh into HVX or EX, a couple of fat batts, it's another hurdle as you probably only have one charger. And setting the alarm for 0300 to charge the Lamp Battery does suck a little.

The Zylite is impressive. i want one - no, I really want four. But right now, you could almost light an interview with LitePanel micros for the cost of one Zylite (UK perspective). If I had a job that was big enough to warrant it, I'd go for a Zylite kit. But for the next few jobs, the LitePanels Micro (especially when you've got a few) works for me.

IMHO. YMMV. YYY.

Where do you get the Zylites in Europe or specifically the UK?

What is there out there for the Ex3/Ex1 in terms of battery packs??
I hate having to estimate and come up short with judgements on battery power.
