I sent my camera in for housing replacement because the paintings were falling off.

After I got it back I left to Beijing and started my camera there for the first time after housing replacement. My lcd didn´t power up. I tried to restart the camera many times and couple of time the lcd did power up but started immediately to flicker and then powered down again. I was sure they had broke my camera in the repair center. Then I got back home to finland and tried my camera again and now the lcd is working perfectly???

What the H%&€6ll??? What is wrong here? I already sent a angry email to repair center and blame them for braking my camera. Could the moisture cause this?? I´ve never had any this kind of problems with the camera. I have had the camera with me in thailand and in korea and never had any problems. So I doubt it is the moisture.

Does anyone have any ideas about this? Should I send camera back to repair center just to make sure that problem doesn´t come back. They promised to check the camera...

Thanks,

Jony

Funny you should mention this. I send my EX1 to the repair center in San Jose in May to have the LCD swivel fixed. The LCD worked fine, but the hinge needed to be replaced. When I got the camera back it seemed fine. A few months later I noticed a flickering in the LCD. I sent the camera back to San Jose for an unrelated back-focus issue (see other thread where they broke my camera). The tech "Chuck" said that the ribbon cable inside the camera had been partially cut, and that was why the LCD was flickering. Gee.... I wonder how that happened? Could it have been from the last repair? After a long argument, I finally got Sony to pay for the ribbon cable repair - but I was still stuck with the $700 bill for when "Chuck" dropped my camera at the repair center. Sorry to hear mine was not an isolated issue...
