I don't want to brick my EX1. Updating it so I can use the 64gb SxS cards.
EX1 is at fimrware v1.05, do I need to update it to a version before the current one?

YES! you need to update it to the technically unreleased v1.10 and v.11 firmware, THEN you can update to the firmware on sonys website.
