EX1 from craigslist

Hi guys,

I posted a request on craig's list for an EX1. Some one is offering me one that has 320 hours on it with the 8GB card. I'm not crazy about his price but I am considering it.

do you think 320 hours is too much? What should I look at when inspecting the camera? What price would u give an EX1 with this number of hours?

320 hours is nothing. no tape heads to worry about.

someone was selling one in la a few days ago for $5400. came with 3 batteries, a couple of 8gb sxs cards, and he claimed mint condition.

I asked him for pictures . . . if I like what I see I might meet him....

Any more suggestions? What to look for in a used EX1?
 
I think You have to check firmware version: 1.11 or 1.12, if SHE still under warranty, If SHE is or not very striped (this can give you an idea of which so much the owner has taken care), the lens scratches. My experience says that also it is important to check that it does not have dead pixels, both in the LCD and in the CMOS.

320 hours is not much IF the price is right.
I bought a brand new EX1 couple weeks ago for $6,099 - $500 = $5,599 !
To me, each hour of use, you should substract at least $5 => $6,099 - $1,600 = $4,499 or less.

You got $500 cash back or the $500 credit to the Sony store?

I was jazzed about my $500 credit until I realized I couldn't use it for batteries, SxS, or anything else related to the camera I bought....

I don't need another TV, MP3 player, or stereo. Maybe I can ebay the credit somehow....
