EX1 Footage Issues.

Hey people, Im playing with a sony PMW-Ex1, love it so far but ive had a few problems with some of my footage and im wondering if any EXcam users could help me. My issue is GRAIN. Ive shot lots of stuff including some scenes for a short film. I always adjust my shutter speed, white balance and F/stop accordingly. Normally I get great results and when color corrected it looks awesome ,but twice lately I have had some nasty grainy footage. Both times it was humid outside and sunny. No ND filters were on, gain at 0, shutter speed at 1000, 1920x1080 in 24p. F/stop adjusted accordingly. white balanced off paper. all settings on manual. I shot some footage once before on a sunny day with the #1 ND filter on and it put a nasty gray grain on the footage. The grain I got today is similar. any suggestions on settings?

Here is a link to a sample of the grain before and color corrected. Its just not as sharp as other footage ive shot.

Its hard to see in that image, but try -3dB & potentially less sharpening etc in the picture profiles until you get the look you are happy with.

if anything its simply because you're raising the exposure in post (in that shot anyway), which is obviously going to also boost and bring out any noise you might not otherwise see. Try exposing higher. (I usually have my zebras around 70-72, using cine2 to get all the latitude possible)

Also, a shutter speed of 1/1000th is extremely high. I highly recommend a 180 degree shutter angle, (1/48th in 24p), and exposing using nd filters and aperture. Unless you're specifically going for that high speed eye bleeding look, in that case ignore me.
