EX1 Color Control

So One thing I love about the HVX is the color control you have (I.E Gamma in your picture settings)

Does the EX1 Have this? Also is the EX1 a 4:2:2?

Xdcam ex capture is 4:2:2, when recorded into sxs cards it's sampled into 4:2:0, Xdcam has a lot of settings to adjust the picture...
Also consider the cmos vs ccd differences, for action sport it's more indicated a ccd camera, but if you want better resolution, a good lens or you work always with a tripod, buy the EX. Don't forget that flash and strobos are the enemies of cmos, causing partial exposure... so choose the right camera according your needs.
Hope it helps.

So if I hook the EX1 into a FCP or an Avid system directly I can capture a 4:2:2 image? Im excited to experiment with capturing directly to a NLE as Ive always shot to tape or card

Color control is one the Ex's strong suits and the thing Sony really got right here. Its control dwarfs the HVX. Download the manual.

What... where did you here that...
Not true. Many have been using the SDI including myself. In fact, the good news is it's capable of 10 bit 4:2:2 1920x1080 FULL HD!

that was more of a question my apologies....do you have to set anything in your capturing device (I.E FCP or Avid) or anything in camera to achieve a 4:2:2 signal or is it automatic?
