EX1/3 firmware upgrade for SDHC adapters available

Testing overcrank (S&Q Motion) on Hoodman card. 60fps has already went over a minute. Before the firmware upgrade I could only get to :15 before it conked out.

2 minute mark.

Media error at 2:11. I think that's more than enough time for typical slo-mo sequences.

A huge improvement but not SxS by any stretch. An incentive to use/buy SxS should be to allow 4:2:2 recording, hehehe.

Testing 48fps...

3 minute mark

4 minutes. That's a 3:40 improvement so far!

6 minute mark.

7 minutes...my camera is gonna asplode!

8:00...9:00...10:00. Okay that's more than enough time. No need for further testing IMHO.

60fps file is intact despite the media error.

Red light disappears faster on "normal" recording. If you try to record again before the red light is off the button is essentially disabled. Once the light is green you can immediately press a now-functioning record button.

I wish the media error message would disappear after a minute. You have to turn the camera off to get it to disappear. If anyone can find another way without resetting the camera let us know!

Thanks for the early birthday present, Sony!

The last time I saw "E15030" was on a brand-new EX1 I'd taken delivery on Feb 2, 2008, after just four hours' exploring the camera as a first-time owner. It went back to B&H for replacement. Seeing that during a firmware upgrade would definately rattle my nerves!

I wish the error messages were a little less cryptic. I just checked the manual and it says the error message will also result in a buzzer and flashing tally lamps. I had the error message but not the other two indications.

Pray for my EX1 tonight! I don't want to part with my baby.

On my EX1, I can push record before the green light and it will continue.
record - stop (red light still on), I push record again and it will continue.
So the record button is not disable on my cam with 1.20 firmware.

I'll take your word for it. Mine was essentially disabled which is a good thing because that has caused Media Error messages in the past.

Which record button are you pressing? I think I was only testing the zoom rocker one.
