EX connecting to HDMI

Hi fellow EX-1 users. Here's an interesting one, and I hope someone has the answer out there.
After 4 years of consistant use, my camera suddenly doesn't recognise the original BU-60 battery. It recognises a SWIT battery that is plugged into the mains socket, but won't except Sony's own battery or other makes when slid onto the back. The fault displayed says 'Change Battery Pack'. Now, you're probably thinking, the battery cells have gone down or the battery has come to the end of its life. Not so. When I took the battery to a local fellow EX-1 user, it worked!!! Please, can anyone help? +++
