EX-1 Color Problem

Hey guys,

I shot this on an EX-1:

As you can see, the glow coming through the table shows as purple on his arm. Not only on his shirt but his skin as well. I tried other colors of shirts and the glow always looks purple. Does anyone have any suggestions for correcting this? Maybe some setting adjustments on my camera. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To the eye, the glow looks blue, like it is supposed to. The camera is having some troubles for some reason.

Try adding some blue gel on the bottom of the table. The table is acting as a filter. You could do a selective color replacement in post, or even in camera, but my choice would be to shift the color of the light more blue when this is being shot rather than hack at it in post. And monitor it while shooting to get a better representation of what is actually being recorded.

Yeah, I noticed it before shooting but not until I didn't have any time to try and solve the problem. I used 3-way Color Corrector in FCP and got some decent...kind of decent...results, but I definitely need to fix this before and not in post.

I have a blue gel on the light below the table. Are you suggesting placing some kind of blue, or other colored cellophane on the bottom side of the glass table? The top side is frosted so I imagine I could only get something to stick on the bottom side. Anyway, just want to be clear about what you are suggesting.

Thanks!
