GH3 EVF or LOUPE?

Can anybody tell me if the Varavon for the GH3 can be mounted with the LCD parked in the middle of the camera? So in otherwords like the VF-4 configuration.
There are a number of Varavons for the GH3. The UNi EX supporter is for articulating with the LCD flipped out and can't be used with the LCD on the back. I believe the EX UNI can be used for both but does not articulate when flipped out. If you follow my drift.

Is the UNI EX Supporter worth it if the LCD can't be articulated with headphones plugged in (on the GH3) ?

Can't it ? It's Ok on mine. The HDMI out is a squeeze but works fine as well. Trouble is once you start attaching plates to the bottom everything becomes compromised - FF's, battery pack's, rigs. So I guess it's using what you need most. I use the Varavon because I like to see my shots in daylight and the Supporter model acts like a ENG camera viewfinder does. If I need to monitor audio other than ambient I use my Beachtek.

You can articulate it down with a headphone jack and partially up. If you use a pre-amp like juiced or beachtek (which is recommended) the input jack doesn't interfere with the articulation and you can monitor from the pre-amp. So there's a few workarounds - like I said, there's a lot of trade-offs using DSLR's when you're continually adding bits to such a small body. In the end you need to decide on your priorities.
