This may be a simple question, but coming from the DVX100/200 world up to the AF100, some things are still a bit fuzzy. I just received my new Zacuto EFV. It has pass-through HDMI. If I use the pass through feature into a 7 inch monitor, will all the features of the Zacuto unit appear on the 7 inch monitor? For instance, if I use the zoom feature on the Zacuto for focus, will the same zoom appear on the monitor? The Zacuto has 800x480 resolution. If I mount a monitor with a 1920×1080 resolution, will passing through the Zacuto into the monitor degrade the resolution, or will it come in at 1920×1080?
Sorry if this is old hat, but inquiring minds want to know. If i don't have to buy an expensive monitor with all the bells and whistles and can simply feed the bells and whistles from the Zacuto, I can save some money. Saving money in video gear? Something tells me this isn't going to work.
