EVF DTL Explanation

I have been trying to get this feature to work, but have not been able to. I am supposed to see a thin white outline on what is in focus, correct? For some reason I have not been able to achieve this. I have been fooling around with the camera for quite some time and feel like I have tried everything to get this to work but I can't get it.

It doesn't look like lines. It accentuates the edges of things that are in focus.

Zoom in all the way on something, and let autofocus lock in on the object. Then push the EVF DTL button, you should see a noticeable (but not overwhelming) difference when it's on.

EDIT: (d'Oh Barry posted while I was writing mine ... so what what he said :) ... good thing I don't write the DVX / HVX books or they'd be as long as the bible :cheesy:)

Not a thin white line ... just an oversharpened digital edge.

Zoom in on what you want to focus on.

Then with auto focus off, hit the "push auto" button to focus.

Then toggle the EVF detail on and off, you should see the picture get softer and sharper.

Now roll the focus ring back and forth with EVF on until you get the crispest edge possible on what you want to focus on.

Again toggle EVF on and off and you will see it more and how it assists you.

You don't have to do all the above for it to work, but the above will give you and excellent idea of what you are looking for so yu can see it in more casual operating circumstances.
