Everything in focused

I just bought the the Olympus E-PL1 with 14-42mm 3.5-5.6 lens (sold the Panasonic GH1). My question is, how can I get everything in focused during video recording? Setting at F22 did help, but close up object as well as distance object was still out of focused.
I really like this camera
 
If camera to subject distance is close, DOF won't be as great if the camera is further away from the subject. Moving the camera further away from the subject will increase DOF.
