Everything I hate about today's "music" in one music video

Meh. No suckier than most vacuous teeny-pop has been throughout the ages. Which is pretty sucky. Just differently so.

Think the song and video are bad? You should read up on how it came to be. Apparently, Ark Music Factory is looking for girls between the ages of 13 and 17 (creepy)... so for any princess from a loaded family, the parents can buy them a pop song and music video. And... discuss...

I realize I'm out of the "current" music scene but I'm at a loss for words at how bad that is.
Obviously just a semi-old man's opinion.
Our parents hated our music too!.
I'd be curious to hear a young teenagers opinion.

Just consider that some poor, most likely thirtysome year old editor had to listen to this song over, and over , and over, and over again. They should build a memorial for that guy.

Batutta, I don't always agree with you, but I'm right with you on this one. I made it to about :58. Insufferable.

At least we had "Parents Just Don't Understand" when I was a kid. Now that was music!

i made it up to :32...

but seriously, I think if the visuals could have been done differently I would probably have lingered.

It reminds me of that Robyn Sparkles parody s**t they do on How I Met Your Mother. But that's like 100 times better.

Actually, the video (in the OP, not the Robin Sparkles video) reminded me of Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, and that wasn't a parody or a spoof.

Wow, so I'm on yahoos front page and this video is a highlighted story.
In the article it says 2.2 million. I go to youtube and its now up to 6.5 million.

If I were a ruthless comic book villain or an interrogator I'd put this music video on a loop to torture and break stubborn captives.

All is not necessarily lost for today's young artists -- there's always Jedward.

EDIT: okay, I admit I hadn't watched that Jedward video when I posted it... wow. Sorry 'bout that, folks...

Let me make it up to you -- go with this one instead:

Actually, "Parents Just Don't Understand" was DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince (Will Smith).
Oh, I know -- and it was awesome. I knew Will Smith was gonna be a superstar off of that.

I just went off of what you said and took even awful examples (like the Beastie Boys) and said they were better than that Rebecca Black video, that's all.

There wasn't anything atrocious about DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince!

Barry, you just introduced me to Jedward.

I'm afraid I must hate you now.

It's nothing personal. I actually love Vanilla Ice. But why oh why did you have to Jedward us?

Sincerely,

Michael

PS. Anyone have a clue how much they charge for the Friday-type videos? We can criticize all we want, but I bet the producers are laughing all the way to the bank.
