Ever gotten goosebumps from something you made?

Well I just did. I love it. I spent the last two days working on this new logo for my personal creative endeavors. When I finished it all up I rendered it and watched it and fell in love. I'm so happy with this design.

Here's a link to the animated clip on vimeo, let me know what you think.

Your logo looks really good.

(I've had goosebumps... when a client cried from emotion seeing their video... that's happened a few times.)

I do know what you mean. I've rewatched my own work in certain shots more times than needed due to awesomeness. Of course, being careful not to appear arrogant means that a private joy more than anything. Something like that logo could certainly do it.

The last 6 minutes of the feature I just worked on... same emotion every time...

Just recently happened at the last moment of a short I just finished as well...

When i watched back the 3/4 cut of my own video shot while in Morocco, with the music I got from Moby, it gave me chills and a nostalgic sadness. I'm sure it helped that it was all shot on a 5Dm2.

I like it. The sound effects dont match the visuals to me, except when the specular highlights go over the top of the letters.

I watched it a couple of times not wearing headphones, then went back to check if there was sound. The sound didn't match what I had in my head, though in my head I only had impressions, and not actual sounds.

The animation for a title one is great. The colors are perfect, and the text is a type I really dig the hell out of. Love the fade on.

The specular highlight sweep is a little dim, though that may be Viemo.

I think it's a great piece, and while I didn't get goosebumps, as it progressed I had a smile turn into a big face splitting grin.

that looks cool XD
but the name looks a little dark o0?
for some random reason that logo reminded me of bioshock
lol maybe its just cus i played it like a few minutes ago

Hi Armisiano:

No offense but the type on your logo is very difficult to read at small web sizes. Probably fine on TV or the big screen. I would consider re-doing it at a larger font size for web usage. Other than that, it is nice.

Dan

I don't think he needs to make the font larger, just make the entire logo and text together...larger. Fill the frame a bit more with it, but other than that it's great.

Really dig the logo man but I agree with Kyle. You should fill the frame more, could be difficult to read for web based applications.

This is so funny, because I honestly thought the entire time that it was too big. Seriously, I did. Funny. I dunno, I think I'm gonna leave it. I don't see it being used much for any web work. I don't even really ever do any web work. The only web work I've done has been DVXfests, and usually my films run so close to the time limit I don't have time to throw a production logo in there. I think on the big screen the proportions will hold up well, and then it might even prove to actually be a tiny bit big. I guess I'll see.

WOW! That was hot to death armisiano.

I congratulate you. I have never, in the entirety of my life, heard the phrase "hot to death". I will find a way to make it part of my everyday library of used phrases. It think it'll be filed next to "buttacularly lost" and "ball f**k nuts".

Thank you by the way. :)

I always get goosebumps with animation if it's not there , then it's not ready for the client.
Even with a short deadline I wait for it. try to forget all the technical things . Just happy to see it come alive...

But lately I've been leaning more towards shooting ,but Ive never had goosebumps there dont know how talent and assistanst might react to me getting goosebumps on set.

Ive gotten GB a few times after seeing the reactions of clients to a few edits of mine.
I never forget my former employee calling me up and saying Everts , for the first time Ive cried after seeing a draft edit... and the material was soso.. thought he was drunk , but he doesn't drink.

Armisiano , it hard's to read the words "Inventive works" especially Inventive.

PS: thanks for the opportunity to brag abit :)

Back in the 80s, going a bit back now, when I had my Sony V5000 hi-8 camera and my JVC10000 Editing vcr, I created three home videos as they were called back then. I used hi-fi (wow, these terms are old) and laid if underneath the home movies.

I sent one to a Mexican family who's illegal sons where here, about 150 people watched it and cried.

I made a home movie for my hubby's secretary, whole family cried and a friend of the family saw it three times in a row!

I made a video about our elementary kids visiting a nursing home, the teacher burst in tears.

So yeah, I've made stuff that people cry.

Now I just want to make 'em laugh.
