EVA_1 + Z-Finder Connectivity

Hey everyone,

Ive been using the Z-Finder on my EVA for about a year now and am very happy about owning both tools. One of my only issues are the cheap plastic connector peices holding the Z-Finder to the EVA.
[small plastic arm that screws into my EVA top handle]

After some time it has begun to bend. My viewfinder is offset drooping downwards/left.

On the field I have bumped my Z-Finder a few times. These plastic connectors are simply not meant for the long-haul. Who has experienced this issue? And what have you done about it?

I am considering purchasing the axis adaptor and axis mini from Zacuto. However, I do not NEED this improvement. Im just looking for strength added to my current form factor.

I want solid metal connector peices similar to what the Z-Finder is made of.

I have the Axis on my C300 for the Graticle HD. It’s solid and allows for lots of adjustment, but that’s also one of its detriments. I hate the VF mounts that have multiple pivot points. It makes quick adjustments turn into long awkward adjustments. But the Axis isn’t alone in that regard. So many VF mounts are like that now. Even camera native ones. So really the only gripe I have with Zacuto and the Axis are the tension adjustment screws for the VF and arm pivoting. It’s either ON and virtually impossible to pivot or OFF and the weight of the VF makes it “fall”. You can find the right spot, but it’s like manually focusing with an AF still lens with super compressed focus scale instead of a manual focus lens with expanded scale. The “spot” is almost not there...

Good info Run&Gun. Also to clarrify, here is an image of the plastic peice I wish to replace with something made of metal. Notice the awkward sagging =(

Really any way I adjust the connector peices, It always wants to sag or can easily shift out of place. Abruptly. I am avoiding fancy new control arms with more bending. The positioning of this at the moment is JUST FINE. I just dont want it to move! Or feel like its about to snap off.
