EVA1 as B-Cam to Varicam LT

Just finished a Branded Content shoot with the EVA1 as B-camera to the Varicam LT. We had the 19-90 Fujinon Cabrio on the LT and the 70-200 Canon on the EVA. Both cameras shooting UHD V-Log at 800 ISO.

Initial takeaway is that the cameras match really well - the EVA seems to be a little less light sensitive (to be expected from the higher resolution sensor), and the image looks a little flatter and slightly more green when you add the V709 LUT. With minimal correction it's very hard to tell the images from two cameras apart shooting at 800. I'll be able to share the finished spots in a couple weeks.

Really impressed with the EVA overall - even with the LongGOP codec the image holds up beautifully with really nice highlight rolloff. Once the AVC-Intra 400 codec is added this camera is going to be a beast for the price point.

Hey Erik - sorry for the late reply. Took a while to connect with my sound person - he said it was a Sennheiser MKH-50...his fave indoor mic

Outstanding job! Colors match very well to the point, you can't tell which is which. Thanks for sharing!

Here's one of the finished pieces - https://vimeo.com/243888315

Cameras match so well at 800 ISO that most people have guessed wrong which shots are EVA

Did you mostly make the EVA look like the LT or vice versa? It's funny how the better camera can be at the mercy of the weaker camera when grading.

You already gave away to this forum the master wide was on the dana dolly and the EVA was on sticks! Anyway that's a great sign if other people can't tell.

We matched the EVA to the LT. Only had to tweak the curves a bit - the colors were spot on.

The BTS did give a big hint. The LT was actually the wide dana dolly shot and the CU of the Rockette. The EVA was the CU of the blonde woman. Most people guessed the wide and tights were from different cameras but didn't realize the two CU's were from different cameras.
