EVA1: EVA 1 Headphone Jack high-frequency noise

I am wondering if other EVA1 users are having the same issue. I hear a high frequency noise in my headphones with or without a microphone plugged into the camera. This high-frequency noise is not audible in the recordings thankfully. It is also audible during thumbnail (playback) mode. I have uploaded a youtube clip to demonstrate the issue. I have a early EVA1 that needs a grip replacement. Not sure if this is considered normal or just my camera. Mitch, if you see this, can you please let me know if it is a specific issue with my camera, considered normal or something I need to send in my camera for service or exchange - thanks!

Perhaps the headphone cable is picking up some local noise other than something coming from the EVA1?

What model headphones? How old and beat up are they?

Is there anything attached to your EVA1? Like an external monitor with perhaps a funky SDI cable connector that's spewing out RFI?

Is all your AVX stuff turned off during the no-mic test?

Do you hear the buzz far away from whatever electronics are in your house, like if you take just the EVA1 and headphones out into a field (or just outside) where there might be less external RFI?

Have you tried a different set of headphones?

Then follow Mitch's advice. :-)

Good luck and let us know what you find out!

Called Panasonic support and they are investigating. I have tried 3 different pairs of headphones. 1 pair is very new. 2 Sennheiser earbud style headphones that do not have issues with other panasonic cameras, 1 pair HD380 cans. Nothing else attached to camera except lens. Noticed this on a out of town shoot first. Then again on another one. Thought it was my AVX system but had the same issue with AVX turned off. Noise is louder initially on powering the camera then drops a little. Seems like cross-talk from something else in camera or something wrong with headphone amp. I have only used my EVA1 and would love to listen to another but since no one else has noticed or complained, I believe it is limited to my camera.
