European 8GB P2 Price Drop 16 GB Must be close by

But if the 16 and even 32 GB P2s become available shouldn't there also not be an update of the P2 store to get things in line????

I'd like to see them take the same path as CF and SD cards not enclosed in the P2 form--ie., the capacity goes up while the price drops. Right now the 8 gig card costs double what the 4 gig card costs. But in the still camera/audio recording world, a 1 gig CF card, for example, cost $135 a year ago. Today the capacity has doubled AND the price has dropped. A one gig card is under 50 bucks, and a 2 gig one is $85--significantly cheaper than the 1 gigger was a year ago. And you can get an 8 gig CF card for under $500 now. A year ago 8 gigs would have cost you over $1,000. THAT is progress. If things in the P2 world were to follow the same logic, a 16 gig card should come out at less than what the 8 gig is selling for now, and the 8 gig should be less than what the 4 gig is. That would make some serious waves in people buying this camera.

Check on the previous items they have sold. They all sold for the same amount. $/£/EUR 0.01

This is a scam.

But thats where things fall down.... SD/CF card are produced by a host of different companies thus that ensures that there is price competition. With the P2 market there is ONE company and no competition. The reason detre of he HVX200 is P2 so Panasonic is able to (more or less) charge what ever it likes... hell people have spent X thousands on the camera whats an extra X hundred for the cards... their "value" is what Panasonic sell them for.

Indy.... in India!
