Estimating Production Time for Training Video

Hi,

I've been shooting weddings on my DVX for the last two years and was recently contacted to shoot a training video. It's basically a live 4 hour training session being held in a conference center, one speaker that might be using PowerPoint. The company doesn't want to repeat this kind of training over and over, so basically want it taped.

How would you estimate your time commitment for something like this? This would be a single camera shoot and I'll assume for now that I'll be adding in any content that they would use for the PowerPoint and any other key information. Color correction and basic editing for time/content.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

good for you Marty,

i would price on a scale that will get you some future work with them, or referrals.

if you are going to have an ongoing relationship, then be gentle.

anyway, i would go with 250 for the shoot.

and 250 for post. or an hourly rate.

if this is big corporate, double it.

make sure you get something in writing about copyright your stuff. and include future per copy cost.

i may be starting to small, but just my 2 cents.
