Essential Equipment for a Short Film?

Sounds vague, but I'm looking to shoot a short later this year with at least a $1k budget.

Here's what I have to work with:
DVX100a
Camera Jib
Tripod
Tapes

I'm looking at a AT-897 Mic with a cheaply made Boom pole for sound work but that hasn't been purchased yet.

Lighting is also essential, so if you have any input on what I could use for a basic setup (I can see the film being shot mostly indoors then a reflector for outdoors and anything to help that).

So yeah, post away...

(I'll do my share of searching as well so I don't look like a lazy bastard )

I noticed that my dumbass already made a thread extremely similar to this, but I can draw some conclusions from it...

I do need a U/V filter, and possibly a BETTER tripod then what I currently have.

Camera Bag I have taken care of, after thoroughly scavenging my house...

So with those 2 checked off, after tons of research, is it even worth a bother looking for wide-lens attachments for this DVX or just deal with I currently have?

The DVX100b is already pretty wide, so its not really necessary. A mic is a must and a boom pole can be made easily out of a painters pole for 25-30$. For lighting if you are indoors use available lights and grab a few clip on home depot lights since you are on a tight budget. The Rode NTG-2 is a very good mic with no noise and it picks up a lot of sound. Rode just came out with the NTG3 which is supposed to be better.
