SHORT: "Escape From New York"

I haven't posted any work on here in a very long time so here is a little short I released today. I would love to hear what you guys think. Thanks so much.


Calm and chaos. Beauty and grit. Love it or hate it New York City has it all. Solitude can be found in the hectic city but sometimes you need an escape.


While going through footage for my reel, I came across lots of footage of the city that I had gathered. It started to tell me a story. As a Long Island native I have always had a connection and love of the city but from a distance. It can be overwhelming and embracing. I love it one minute while looking at the way the light streaks through the buildings and hate it the next when I’m rushing to catch the train or battling through midtown traffic. I’m an observer and admirer of this great city but we have our moments. I love to visit and I love to escape.

Good job man, really liked the build up and the mix of normal and slow motion. The shot at 00:29 is my favorite.

It was shot in color and in post matted to 2.35 and made B&W.

That's what I was wondering. Shooting directly in B&W would be a challenge in my case. No really "control" over it once it's shot.
On a side note, I would have make it more contrasty a bit. But it's personal preferences here!
