FS7: Error Code: E95-318

I bought an FS7 just over a year and I'm the original owner. I just started getting an error that comes and goes. At the top of the screen the error reads: E95-318. When this happens I'm getting no audio.
I've tried resetting the camera and updating firmware. The only way I can get the error to go away is to re-boot the camera multiple times. Sometimes it goes away after rebooting once or twice. Sometimes I have to do it a lot.
I've dug around online and only found a couple instances with people talking about something like this. It appears to be a data communication issue between the VIF-58 board and the DPR board. I've started looking into sending it to a service center but wanted to double check with everyone to make sure there isn't a quicker/cheaper fix.

I appreciate your time and feedback!

I googled the code for you: Re: Error message: E95-312

They had replaced "Mounted c.board dpr-365"-part...

Hi liftfilms, i actually have the same issue with my FS7. I’ve posted about this a couple of times. I bought my FS7 used from Adorama about 3 years ago. On occassion, it will startup with error codes E91-350 and E95-318. When this happens the audio will not work (both internal and XLRs). Even when the error isnt flashing I have an issue with the cameras HDMI and SDI out when not switched to the “recorder” output setting. Not sure if these two issues are related or not. I have to restart the camera a few times and the audio usually comes back and the error goes away. Only a couple of times I had the issue and no matter how many times i restarted the audio wouldnt work. In that instance I had to slate and record external audio. It eventually came back a week or so later.

I live right by the Sony service center in Teaneck, NJ. Brought it in and they were helpfull but seem stumped. They need 10 days to work on the camera so i’ll have to bring it back on a week when I dont have any shoots..which might be a while. Will report back then to see what the issue ends up being. I have a feeling its a bad output board or a loose board.

Question, do you ever invert your camera? For instance I invert my camera when flying steadicam in low mode..

I wanted to provide an update on my above post. I brought my camera to Sony again and dropped it off this time. They were super helpful and appreciative to the fact that I needed it repaired pretty quickly.

A few days later I got a repair estimate. It turns out the camera had a faulty board (VIF-58 PCB) They are replacing that, a wire connector as well as updating firmware and cleaning. The total for the board was 443.35, the wire 82.60 and 2 hours of labor @ $135/hr. I was expecting it to be around that so it wasn't too tough of a pill to swallow. I'm going to approve the repair and hopefull have it back in a few days.
