Okay, be gentle DVX guys. This is the first wedding I've shot and I just finished batching this morning. It will be cut in Vegas, as soon as I figure out what all those buttons do.

For now, please check out this edit I cut today in... drum roll please, Windows Movie Maker Ver. ¾.0

No CC yet and the camera was default 24pa.

Thanks!

For DOF on the stock lens, just stay in close to your subject at the long end of the lens. While I love working at a 5.6, it helps to throw in the appropriate ND and shoot at a 2.8 or lower if you can swing it.

from one new guy to another... good job. You actually seemed to have somewhat of an eventful wedding. My first one in may was pretty to the point. There were 3 hours of prep for 12 minutes at the altar (yes I clocked it)

I really didn't take any of the reception...well mainly because nothing happened.

I did the recap video to "I love the way you love me" by John Michael Montgomery.

Again...good job.

I think you have done a great* wedding video. The camera work (framing, pannign, and the touch of a zoom) was pro and adecuate for this market. ( by the way, I can relate your camera work with the cinematography from the show 24)

The song, nice touch... I love Italina, I thinks is the language of love not French... oops is there any French here? ;)

I enjoyed it.

Thanks! Those are some really nice words and I appreciate you looking. I dragged my Manfrotto 516 - and I do mean dragged - all the way to California for this wedding and it sat in the rental car trunk the entire time.

I shoot so much handheld now that even when I'm off-the-clock I tend to use my body and the Cavision handles instead of sticks out of habit.

Looks good overland! Well cut together as well. I know that wedding videos can be a
pain in the ass to make them entertaining.

That'd be Dominico Modugno, the song title is, nel blu dipinto di blu - or simply "Volare".

Cheers,

looks awesome so far dude.... can't wait to see your final product. Is this something that you're going to try to do more often?

Let's see... you shoot mostly on the weekend, in a suit, the money ain't great and the end-client is either the bride or her mother. Sounds like a nightmare business model to me. I have new respect for anyone who does this for their bread and butter.

I suppose it beats working in a salt mine.

Money ain't grate? How do you price your project.
I love doing wedding videos... in my experience, wedding videos are the easiest way to make money.
