Erasing P2 in Laptop

I know how to erase the P2 within the camera by re-formatting. My question is how do I do that after I've dumped my clips on my Mac laptop?
 
Unlock the .txt file (do a get info, check off the unlock box). Select and drag/move to trash, both the .txt and contents folder of your P2 card. Hold the option key down, and empty the trash.
 
And if you're on a PC, you can do a select-all and a cut (ctrl-A, ctrl-X) from the root directory of the P2, and then do a paste (ctrl-V) into your target folder.
 
Thanks Bob. It was the unlocking the txt file that I was having problems with.

I had some issues of cutting and pasting on a PC from a P2 store.
It would get almost finished and then, not allow the process, only transfering the video (without audio).

Not sure why it's doing this from the P2 store.
The workaround was to make the directories on the P2 store "shared".

Since trying it that way, I now just use edius to just transfer the files to my editing hard drive. That seems to work properly and 3 x the speed.
