Equipment recommondations

I'm purchasing DVX 100b and i was wondering if can give advice on what brands and where to buy the following accesories:

Extra battery
Shotgun Mic
Rail system for lens adapter
Hard Case

Also i'm planning on getting the VArizoom flowpod. Does anyone have any experience with this stabilzer? I'm also debating whether or not I should get a boom pole. How necesarry is that for short filmmaking?

Do you already have an adapter? If not, I recommend the M2

If you already have the adpater, you can get rods there as well:

The Battery is here, it is the DVXuser Battery:

The Hard case has a ton of options. Here is one:

Shotgun Mic Depends what you want. I recommend a Senheiser or Audio Technica. Find the one you want then do a search on e-bay.

Hope this helps.

I agree with msconces battery recommendation. I also highly highly suggest a pelican case if you can afford it. They're definitely worth the cash. Your equippment isn't worth anything if it's damaged :(. I personally have a pelican 1560 and it's enough for the DVX, basic accessories (tapes, cords, batteries, charger, a 35mm lens adapter and a few 35mm lenses.) if you want to keep the rails and other stuff in the same case, you should step up the size a little. I travel alot, so the 1560 is perfect for me. Plenty large while being able to be an airplane carry-on. It also have a fancy extendable handle and wheels. I think it ran me aout $150 at www.evsonline.com ? don't quote me on that. Good luck!
