Equipment Question

Hi Everybody, I'm a Film Student and i'm going to shoot my thesis movie with the HVX.

I would like to ask you : " What Kind of equipment should I check out from the school if I don't want to carry around too much stuff without this hurting my film ? "

The problem is that I want to use just a Car and not a Van for the transportation and most of the scenes are exteriors. I just need 2 interiors (simple) scenes.

What kind of light should I use without any doubt, I want to know what kind of lights are strictly necessary.

I don't think anyone can honestly answer that without knowing exactly what you will shoot. If you are shooting two people sitting in a sunny field, you could get by with some light weight reflectors. If the same two people are sitting in a cemetery at Midnight, obviously you'll need a few lights, maybe some Chinese lanterns. What are your locations going to be like?

A soft light is always a good idea and maybe a hard source or two that can be scrimmed down.

If you're shooting exteriors during the day and you need lights, you want HMIs. Chances are you probably don't need lights.

How many subjects do you have? Are they stationary or moving? Night or day?
