Equipment for Documentary film

Trying to get setup to shoot documentary film and need advice on what to buy to get me up and riding: Just the basics for now. Here's what I have so far: Going to go with B&H for now.

-AG-DVX100A $ 3,499.95 (good price ?)
-Sennheiser ME66 - Super Cardioid Shotgun Condenser Microphone Kit - Price $ 684.95 - Do I really need the kit - this mic is good right ???
-Spare battery
-72mm UV Protector Filter - Glass
- 4 year Extended Warranty for Pro Digital Camcorder or Pro
- Panasonic AY-DVMCLA Mini DV Cleaning Cassette
- see that a starter fluid head tripod is the Bogen 3221WN Black Tripod w/503 Pro Video Head - don't know about ttp://www.hotbuyselectronics.com/ ??
- Lighting no idea?

oh yes and a project to shoot :)


Any advice would be helpful as I'm about to piss away my hard earned cash on this stuff and want to know that I'm at least heading in the right direction !! I guess this stuff is also sellable secondhand right so if I could always get rid off it without too much of a loss. But on all positive note, your comment please.

looks like you have picked good stuff.. btw EVS will most likely beat all those prices, as they give DVXuser members a member discount, email Cody@evsonline.com for info.

The 503 head is great, i would recommend the 525 legs with them.

and make sure that 72mm UV is multi-coated (if it says tiffen its not)

the mic is great, but you might be able to find another option a few dollars below ig you have to. the sennheiser will never disappoint you. depends on what you wanna do...
