Epic and Scarlet release in 2010

When Red pitched the original 3k for $3k Scarlet they were pitching a concept to gauge interest and get feed back on the features people would like to see on such a camera. After 6 months of criticism and feedback on the original concept it became apparent it wasn't possible to make a camera with the features people wanted for that price. The entire Scarlet/Epic modular line was a response to input from potential customers. Why people are still harping on that original pitch when it had many shortcomings anyway and was never even developed is beyond me. The cameras that have been developed are completely different. Prices may have gone up but we will get so much more for the bucks that I don't consider it much of an issue.
Most of the grumbling seems to follow the line of make a less capable HD camera cheaper. Well there are plenty of options for that already.
