ENG mic kits...what do you recommend?

Hello.
I'm interested in purchasing (2) ENG mic kits, for field production and I'm on a limited budget
(who isn't these days!!) and I'm wondering what the users, on this site, use, recommend, dislike, etc..

I was looking at the Azden 330LX and the Sennheiser Evo G3 100 systems.

Are any of these worthy or is there something else that anyone would recommend?

Thanks, in advance!

"ENG mic kit" isn't really defined here.
"limited budget" also means nothing without a currency symbol and some digits.

From your options, we assume you are looking at wireless? Hand-held, or clip-on lav? Are you SURE you need wireless? What are your applications? There are no known decent wireless kits for less than US$500~600. It will cost you 5~10X more (as well as much more grief) for a wireless solution vs. a wired microphone. You should probably read this...

The Sennheiser G3 series is generally considered the least expensive halfway-decent wireless system.
Azden doesn't have a particularly good reputation. Their more recent, higher-end products may be better, but I haven't seen anybody coming around any of these online forums and saying "I just got an Azden ________ and its great!"

You haven't completed your user profile, so we don't know where you are? If you are in the US/Canada you should know that last year the 700~800MHz band was removed from service for wireless mics. That means that some people are selling very good wireless equipment in that band at file-sale prices. Illegal in North America, but a very good deal if you are somewhere else on the planet.

All of what Richard said.

Unless you NEED wireless, you will get better sound and save money using wired mics. Go to the audio section and read all the stickies, then ask more questions.

The Sony UWP-V6 set-up is one more worth considering. I know Alex (C2V), doesn't really dig it due to the compander, but they work and if you're on a budget, they are a good value. With a bit of research I'm sure you can find some posts here on the Sony set and why he returned it and went with the Sennheiser.

If I were to buy today and budget was "just kind of" an issue, I would get a Sennheiser 2000 series bodypack Transmitter for the selectable 100mW output, Sennheiser G3 Receiver and a RODE lav. Hey..that's a nice bundle, I should make that a kit in our store lol. The nice thing about the RODE lav would be that you could use it wireless, but when you really didn't need wireless, you could just swap the Micon connector from 3.5mm Sennheiser to the Micon 5 XLR for about $28. I had to do this recently on a shoot - saved my bacon!
BTW, do you really need the plug on transmitter? The Sennheiser G3 100 series ENG kit is a great value at the $799 level and the industry standard in the under $1000 price point. But, unless you really need that plug on transmitter, I'd go the 2000 series route...I'll go work on that bundle....
