ENG & EFP Production

I've never heard anyone reference these audiblly and I've always wondered...is ENG pronounced ("E"..."N"..."G") or ("EENG")? In other words do people refer to it by spelling it, or is there a right way to "say" the acronym?

But that takes three times as long to say  Thanks, I don't know why, but I always wondered about that.

Peace,
Larry

That comment, combined with the fact that I have, as of yet, still not received my "My Christmas Soldier" DVD makes me think you don't like me anymore :crybaby:

My understanding is that EFP is multi-camera production on site, like sports events where there is actual production outside the studio. ENG is news reporting, of any size, and any prodcution value is done at the studio....

ENG.
Electronic News Gathering.
News production, (generally television news) done with a electronic means, normally a video camera. This is specifically news production.
Due to it very comonly beeing done handheld, shoulder mounted cameras and camera work are/is sometimes sometimes (incorrectly) refered to as "ENG" in a non news setting.

EFP.
Basically any video production that happens out in the "field", so outside the studio. Essentially "on location" shooting, either single- or multi-camera.

The Electronic in both is what diferentiates them from Film Production - which obviously isn't Electronic. ENG Signifies the transition from when news used to be also shot on film before the days of video.
