End search doesn't always work

When I press the "end search" button, sometimes it works, sometimes it does nothing.
Is there a logic behind this ?

Re: End search doesn't always work

Sorry to insist, guys, but I still can't figure out why. This feature is quite important — I would hate to erase a good shot !
Anybody with a clue on this ?

Re: End search doesn't always work

In VCR mode, pressing this button will search for unrecorded blanks on the tape. It should bring you in still picture mode about one second just before the blank, unrecorded remainder of your tape.

However, if you go into the Auto SW section of the camera's menu, you can change this setting to REC END to search for the part that was shot last instead of simply looking for blanks in the tape (the BLANK setting is default).

If you do have the REC END setting in place, keep in mind that if you switch the tape sometime during shooting this feature may not work.

Also, an unrecorded blank very early on in the tape or somewhere along the tape's duration could affect the END SEARCH function as well.

Be sure you're in VCR mode either way.
