SHORT: Emmeline

A playful, imaginative celebration of 'the other', 'Emmeline' is the sweetly comic-absurd fabulation of a girl who isn't quite like everyone else...

Shot over a weekend in Hampstead, UK on zero budget, with loaned equipment. I was the DOP and editor. Graded completely in FCPX.

Thanks and enjoy!

Not bad at all... And even if it's full of music, because there are also other sounds...it makes it less boring.. If this would be 100% music without other sounds it would be boring
but now it's not.

Also very nice the "score music" becomes a "source music"

And...Amelie Poulain.... :-p

Thanks dre83! I agree, we reviewed a draft version of the film with no SFX/Foley and realised it was definitely lacking something, so I'm glad you noticed it! Ideally I would of liked another few days to tweak some bits here and there but due to work/life commitments we had to call it a day. Still, with no budget and a lot of favours asked (staying late after work and using the studio equipment!) I'm very pleased with the outcome! Glad you enjoyed the '"score music" becomes a "source music" aspect. This was something written in the original storyboard, very happy we managed to incorporate into the film successfully!

Yehp, definitely some Amelie inspiration ;)

Great job! Entertaining and technically solid. Did you enter this into festivals? If so, how did it do?

Thanks Chris! Re: festivals. We've entered it into one recently and it's passed the first round which is good news but to be honest any advice/suggestions would be highly appreciated! Not too familiar with the whole festival circuit but I think we missed the window for a lot of festival this year which is annoying but if you know of any you think that this would be suitable for, i'm all ears. Would love to try our luck with it!

Thanks!

I really liked it!

The short had a nice flow and was easy to watch without getting bored.
