I am on a shoot right now and I swapped a sony battery and now the camera won't turn on. I tried several different batteries (all Sony) and there is no power. I thought it was the camera so I loaded the same battery into the other Z7 and now that one won't turn on! Could the battery have fried the circuits??
i am on the shoot right now without a camera.. so if any one has any suggestions please help.
Also is there a way to manually eject the tape?? I need to get the footage out ASAP..

Didn't you get an ac adapter with that camera ? That's the only way I see to eject the tape. And an obvious question....have you tried other batteries ? Was the battery not oem ?

Thanks for the quick reply. We have 5 batteries, and after using one that we identified as the culprit, none of the thee batteries power either if them. And we don't have the ac cord with us.

And yes all oem Sony batteries

A battery can not kill a camera as the voltage that a battery puts out can not be higher than 8.4V - it has something to do with chemistry of a Li-Ion cell. So the problem is elsewhere. Just a wild guess: Do you know that the batteries are in fact charged? Could it be that somehow a battery bent one of the pins in both cameras? Did you actually fully inserted them all the way in? Sorry for asking such silly questions, but something is telling me that the problem is less sinister than it appears to be. Good luck!

Ok got the cameras working. All five batteries were absolutely dead. Very very strange since we pulled them all off a charger and I KNOW they were all fully charged, and 2 of them not used. Now I have to figure out why all the batteries died all at once. I've eliminated an emp pulse canon, leaving all other possibilities open at the moment... Anybody know of any unusual solar activity?? :p
