"Embedding" ethics

Just wondering what peoples views are on the "embedding" feature in Vimeo and YouTube. Is it ok to embed a video you have seen on Vimeo/YouTube on your site if you give the proper credits and provide a link to the original? For instance, if I want to show some good samples of videos from the D90 on my blog page in a discussion about filmmaking.
Is there any consensus about this? The feature seems available with no warnings, but I have respect for ethics and copyright issues.

if you put your stuff on vimeo without making it private you agree to that. just drop them a line and let them know what you're doing.

Vimeo is the host not the copyright holder.

The copyright holder has published thier work on Vimeo so you can go right ahead and publish on your website via embedded no problem.

If you were to hotlink/embed to another's website with thier original work you would have both copyright problems and bandwidth jacking problems.

This is not the case with Vimeo so go right ahead with a clear concious and publish to your hearts desire.
