Of course none of here are perfect and there have been a lot of valid points shared here.
Look at your work and ask yourself if there is anything that you might have changed. By the way I live near Dearborn, MI. And saying that I can honestly say that the subject matter is to close to home for me. Why ? because I have been living this way before Desert Storm and I'm just Iraqi - ed out.
Good lighting and great sound however. And hey on continuity, let us not forget Pulp Fiction with it's bullet holes in the wall before any gun went off. You had two weeks to do this and there was bound to be something out of whack. Congrats and keep up the good work . . .
Thanks reg5 for the input. By the way when all was said and done we did it in 7 days total.
Jigmic As far as "very funny" nice drive by, how about some input from one filmmaker to another?
Producer, co-writer, D.P. and actor. You could also call me the co-director since I was going to direct it and changed my mind at the last minute. The director was just a hired gun. Way to many hats!
im a latecomer onto this thread (and dont feel like reading through 9 pages), Elvis, so sorry if this question has already been asked, i was wondering why the brightness is turned up so high, making it the colors all washed out - can you fix it in post?
I'm sorry to chime in on a negative note, this being my first post here, but what's everyone so excited about with this short? It seems rather poorly acted, shot, edited and lit. I shouldn't even say poorly... simplisticly. Where exactly were these awards won? What am I missing here.
Oh, and one last gripe since that seems to be my theme... In the subtitling, when you're trying to say "you are", the contraction is "you're" rather than "your".
I think this could have been edited better perhaps if more time was taken with it. I wasn't ever really pulled in either because a lot of the "tense" shots were held too long without cuts or because the CIA actor seemed worse than me. I for one also would have preferred it lit more dark to add some flavor.
Just my two cents.
I am happy to see someone tackling this subject though this directly even if it will offend and piss off a lot of patriots.
Phil I thought it was great that you stood up for it. Feel free to anytime. That is what feedback is for. I think people have forgot that this was done in 6 days . One day shooting . We were on a time limit.
The lions Den thanks for the feedback. The one regret I have was turning over the Directing to someone else. At the last minute. A lot of the problems with my film is director related. The CIA actor which was me. Gave the performance the director asked for. But thanks again for taking the time to post.

No problem, That's why I stepped up, it's hard to compare this to work that people have taken their time on and had a nice budget to make sure it came out perfect.

I was taught that a good director can get bad actors to act well. But a bad director can make a good actor act bad! Did that make sense? Anyways. Hang in there Elvis.
I too think Elvis can act. Is this part overplayed and lacking in 'dynamics'? I think somewhat. But you gotta grab the director on that one. Can you see the actor setting up lights and props and teaching the director to operate the camera? Poor guy!
