Element Technica F3 Riser & Shoulder Pad Kit

I really don`t know why people like to design the V-lock bridge plate for F3? VCT-14 isn`t a good choice for this camera because we can`t adjust the balance and it will get some play. If you want quick release, some of tripod plate can do this, like sachtler.

Very cool Mitch, But will the magnet hold the pad on well enough. In the video you had a slight shift and the pad was falling off. And hopefully the rear rods clamp will be included for the thousand dollar price? Hint, Hint.

Nice job Mitch, hopefully top handle next, right?

I always laugh a little when i see how much people charge for these things. looks super useful however.

I actually like the griptech both in price and function over the AbleCine one as a rods holder for front and back are built in, and half the price as well as not having to buy another accessory just to get rods in the rear. Only down side is you cant seem to switch from V lock to threaded mount, which means you HAVE to go to a sony or panny plate...

I like the Able shoulder rest, seems comfortable and well thought out, but also it being made specifically to the F3 means thats a $1,000 chunk of metal and foam you'll have to sell once you get a new camera in a few years, either selling it on its own, or with the F3 will be hard considering the price because it wouldn't really work for another camera with its positioning... That is unless its close to the same form factor. I'd be hard to pay 1k for something I already own, just adding a pad that is magnetic under it. I already have riser and rods, kinda hard sell for people already owning something.

Hi, Giuseppe ,I`m making a shoulder bridge plate which has LW15mm rods both side, 15/19 studio rods, could be adjusted balance with arri dovetail, comfortable shoulder pad, fit lower optical axle camera like F3, AF100, FS100 and price will under 1K. Maybe you will interest in it. I think it will be done in July.

Yeah I'm interested in that as well, I was actually going to mention the Allstar stuff looked really well thought out. I liked the bridge plate you guys made, looks solid. Look forward to seeing your new setups

Thanks, I don`t like to post some 3D render picture and boast of it, so I`ll post really pictures after it be done.
And All of my products are not made in China, I`m a Taiwanese.

The shoulder pad in the video was a first prototype, and I told them the magnets were not strong enough. The shipping version will be rock solid.

The rear clamp is an additional accessory. I think it lists for about $200.

Who says you can't use it for another camera? The riser kit is just that -- a kit. There are four parts: A plate that mounts to the bottom of the camera, a section that holds the rods, a shim for the difference between ET bridgeplate v. ARRI bridgeplate, and the shoulder pad. For another camera, all that would need to be changed is the plate that mounts to the base of the camera.

Is there any way to attach it to a Sony VCT-14 or Panasonic tripod plate?

Not with this setup, although you have to ask yourself why you would really want to. A VCT-14 is designed to get the center of gravity at the same point as the shoulder rest, but this plate is already just about doing that anyway. Any modern tripod head will have enough fore/aft adjustment to get balance. By eliminating the wedge system the camera has a lower center of gravity and is mounted more securely.

Mitch, a couple of things. Would it be possible to see pictures of the bottom of the unit and the backend as well. We understand it is a prototype and things may not be finished or subject to change. The lead out time on this appears to be around early September. Is that correct?

Sure, I can post some photos after the July 4th US holiday. Just what is it about the base and back that you'd like to see so that I can be sure to get you a clean shot?

Our website staff was being overly-cautious with the delivery dates. We should have complete systems to ship by the end of July. If you're willing to take delivery of everything but the shoulder pad then you can get the rest of the kit in a few weeks (with the pad coming at the end of the month).

Well done, this looks perfect and totally worth the price, if one has to spend a few days shooting HH. I shot a multiday commercial HH on the F3, basically had to cobble together a HH setup in one day, with what I had available. ET solution is so much better.

The Griptech solution could be very interesting with a shoulder pad a la ARRI , the one with the velcro system , the Sony VCT U14 can be found for @US$ 80 on ebay
I live in Vietnam where I can have made the baseplate and 15mm support for a reasonable price, no anodising though only Swiss or USA grade aluminium
