Effect Help

In this video here there are two effects I want to learn. If someone could give me a overview/ steps to do it that would be great. Any help would be appreciated.

The effect at 20/21 where it zooms into the mirror

And the effect at 40 seconds where it switches between cameras. This is the more import effect.

Thanks

Here is the video- http://vimeo.com/3040372

For the first one, I'd recreate the mirror. I doubt it's even there, honestly. You'd want to do that in a 3d program.

Or, just video from the back of the vehicle with a HIGH resolution camera (something that shoots higher than your output ... for example, using a 2k camera for a 720 project would give you plenty of wiggle room), and just zoom into the mirror (in post, not actually with the camera). Mask out whatever is actually in that mirror, and add whatever video you want into it.

Before seeing this video, I was thinking to myself, "I bet this is that wake boarding video" ... short answer: I don't know how to do that. Sorry.

I know the second one was filmed with two cameras and I know how to do the clips repeating effect.

I just need to know how to combine the two clips like that. Like how they morph together.

I'm no expert, but the Matrix-like move at 00:40 looks like an effect I've seen before.
It's a technique they use to make 2D photographs look 3D.

You grab a frame from both cameras, then break them up in Photoshop into individual elements
(layers). In this video, layers would include the cameraman, water and wake boarder.

You then "zoom out" digitally from the first camera position to the second camera position,
moving the individual layers accordingly to match the perspective. You can see this best with the
"cameraman" who moves from left to right and gets smaller until he matches the shot from the
second camera, at which point the video continues.

I hope this makes sense. It's a little complex to describe. Here's a link with some examples
of what I'm talking about.

The editor has done a great job blending the effect so it really has that Matrix look. The
music also helps. With some trial and error you should be able to duplicate it.
