EF to E mount adapter flare issue

Has anyone had this issue? If so what's the consensus on best way to avoid this?

I have a Sony A7rii and currently using a Fotga EF to E mount adapter. I've noticed that whenever there is an overhead light a flare appears in my shot. It's honestly fairly frequent and very annoying.

Is there a way around this? Apparently even the $400 Metabones does this too to an extent. I'll likely be investing in an FS5 later this year and honestly don't want any annoying flares when I shoot more documentary work. Surely there's a way to get around this without using all Sony native lenses? All my lenses are already Canon or EF mount.

Thoughts? :(

Commlite did this as well - your best bet is

1)Flock the adapter with flocking paper. I bought a 20$ sheet from Edmunds optic and it reduced the flaring A LOT. Not completely but it helped a lot. Don't skimp on it. The metabones MK IV is the only adapter i know of, that comes pre-flocked and it consequently flares a lot less - but its never perfect.

2)Matte box

Wow that's ridiculous. I covered every place I could reasonably reach with black paper tape and seems to have stopped the flaring about 95%. Still 5% flaring kind of annoying though. Even the $400 metabones isn't perfect? For that price I'd expect it to be. Why hasn't other lens adapters added this simple coating yet if without it it's almost unusable? Far out.

Then it maybe your lens ;)
