Edius P2 select sound only?

Just having a play with the Edius demo. Have copied P2 card folders onto external hardrive and am trying to import them into Edius. I've called the folder virtual1, and the CONTENTS folder is beneath that. When I select "virtual1", the thumbnails of the clips show in the "select P2 clip" dialogue box. Then I try and import them but only get sound files in the bin. I've tried all options: Direct import, copy and import, combine files and import sans successs.

If I igjht-click on one of the thumbnails, and select "Play by Edius", again all that plays is the sound - no picture.

The video codec is showing as DV100_720/50p ( i thought I'd recorded at 720/25p...


Any ideas anyone?
 
720p/50p, 720p/25p and 720p/25pN are currently not supported in EDIUS. It seems that we have to wait until end of June to get it (EDIUS Broadcast V4). No problems with 1080i/50i and 1080i/25p (codec DV100_1080/50i).
 
Thats true,

lets pray that canopus will implement all the pal framerates...Brian from cnopus america said that they planed to put all the hvx pal possibilities as well, but said that it cant be sure, cause they are still developing.

Lets hope they put it, otherwise it wount make much sense to buy it in pal countries!
 
I believe this is because you need the broadcast version/ dongle to see Panasonic codec, otherwise you can only do SD.

Try some SD footage, and if that works, the problem is not having "broadcast".
 
I have EDIUS Broadcast including the dongle. Unfortunately there is currently no full support for the PAL version.
